Toast is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join its Finance & Accounting team in Chennai. This is a full-time, permanent hybrid role, requiring two days per week in the office and supporting global procure-to-pay (P2P) operations.

The role focuses on accurate and timely vendor invoice processing, PO matching, and maintaining strong internal controls while ensuring compliance with Indian statutory requirements such as GST, TDS, and withholding taxes. The position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager (India) and involves close collaboration with procurement, treasury, accounting teams in India and the U.S., as well as regular interaction with vendors.

Key responsibilities include invoice coding and routing, two- and three-way matching, vendor reconciliations, audit support, AP accruals, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, and participation in month-end and year-end close activities. The role also contributes to process improvements, automation, and standardization within AP operations.

🎯 Key Requirements: 
 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a multinational environment
Strong knowledge of invoice processing, vendor management, and payment cycles
Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP) and Excel / Google Sheets
Experience with procurement and AP automation tools (Coupa, Ariba, Zip preferred)
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts during month-end close
