Master of Science X-Ray Technician
By NCTA Duration: 2 Years Code: UDC-655Overview:
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) X-ray Technician is a professional two-year post-graduate course, usually of four semesters, offered to interested graduates by various universities and institutions in India. OBJECTIVE This is a specialised training course aimed at advanced techniques and detailed knowledge of radiology, including X-ray technology. Designed for those with previous qualifications in medical imaging or allied health sciences, this course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prepare you for professional practice as a radiographer.
During the X-ray technician course during my M.Sc. course, students will learn how to operate sophisticated equipment and how they work. Apart from this, they will be able to identify symptoms and determine whether the body is positive or not using similar imaging techniques. The course follows a broad curriculum that begins with the basics of X-ray technology and progresses to imaging procedures and digital radiography. They undergo a complete learning process from basic to advanced imaging, that too as per contemporary standards, so that ideal candidates can perform competently at the technological and diagnostic forefront of modern radiology departments.
Other areas of focus in the program are proper patient care and safety, including radiation protection protocols and imaging room preparation, along with understanding factors that affect the image acquisition process, from positioning techniques to ethics surrounding diagnostic imaging. Students will also complete a research methods track that includes independent research projects and contributes to innovation in medical imaging.
