Overview:

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Public Administration is a full-time undergraduate course for a duration of 3 years divided into 6 semesters. The course is offered in almost every college and university in India with the intention of equipping learners with an in-depth understanding of the principles, processes, and practices of public administration and governance. The structure of the course would work toward enhancing analytical and decision-making skills to overcome complex problems that exist in the fields of public policy, governance, and administration.

The course provides a blended approach of theoretical and practical knowledge and includes lectures, case studies, assignments, and independent research. This shall entail an analysis of theories on administration, public management, policy, and ethics in governance. The approach of the course will allow graduates to make critical analyses with respect to the implementation of public policy, management of resources available within the public sector, and serving humanity by providing services to make society a better place for living. This will also give students chance to develop problem-solving skills and leadership qualities, making them able to work at all levels of government, quasi-governmental units, NGOs, and other related fields.
