Overview:

BA Hons in Geography is a 4-year full-time undergraduate course divided into 8-semesters. The course is offered by many universities across India to build up overall knowledge concerning physical features, interaction between man and environment, spatial pattern and regional development of the earth. The course also gives theoretical inputs, focusing on developing practical competencies in geographical data analysis, interpretation of spatial phenomena and solving current environmental and social problems.

The program incorporates classroom theory with fieldwork, laboratory exercises and research projects. The students will learn to apply knowledge in existing and real situations and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The study of this course will enhance the knowledge of the students about geography and will also broaden the horizons of job opportunities in fields related to urban planning, environmental management, geographic information systems and public policy.
